UAE Maternity Insurance Cover
The Dubai Health Insurance Law No. 11 of 2013 makes it compulsory for employers to extend health insurance with combined maternity benefits to their staff. Normally, maternity insurance also gets coverage to the employees' dependents.
Always remember assessing maternity insurance through your foresight. If the employer does not sponsor the maternity insurance cover, it is best to apply yourself for a cover that puts you ahead of time since many insurers need a waiting period or a moratorium before availing the benefits of the insurance plan.
What is the Waiting Period?
Insurance companies delay for a period of 6 to 12 months before getting a claim on a current maternity insurance cover. While with the rising competition in the insurance industry, most of the companies have selected to skip the waiting period. This makes the likelihood of making immediate claims but is not extended if the insured is not pregnant while at the time of applying for the maternity insurance policy.
